What We Do:  

Woodcraft Rangers provides TK-12 expanded learning programs, including before and after school, specialty enrichment, and summer learning. In the past few years, Woodcraft has expanded its menu of services beyond traditional afterschool programs and summer camps to include early learning, environmental and social justice, college access, and inclusion services for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Additionally, we offer Lifecraft, a college and career advancement program to support the development of approximately 1,000 staff. Today, Woodcraft Rangers serves more than 20,000 youth ages 4-18 annually in and from 110+ Title I schools across LA County!

Role Overview: 

The Inclusion Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting inclusive programming across Woodcraft Rangers’ afterschool, summer, and camp programs. Reporting to the Director of Inclusion, this individual oversees the team of Inclusion Specialists, ensuring effective implementation of inclusive practices, staff training, and student support strategies. This hybrid position involves regular site visits, office-based coordination, and some remote work.  
 

Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise Inclusion Specialists, ensuring timely and effective execution of projects and support services.  

  • Guide and support program staff-including Inclusion Aides, Club Leaders, and Site Coordinators – on inclusive instructional strategies, modifications, and accommodations.  

  • Facilitate a safe and inclusive environment that embraces diversity, equity, and belonging for all students and staff.  

  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of inclusive program policies and practices.  

  • Conduct assessments to identify barriers to inclusion and develop strategies to address them 

  • Deliver staff training on Inclusive Practices, Person-Centered Approaches, Universal Design and other newly identified areas of need. 

  • Collaborate with school and program stakeholders to create and implement Ranger Success Pathway Plans. 

  • Actively seek and engage in cross department collaboration to ensure alignment across initiatives. 

  • Maintain relationships with families and community partners to ensure holistic student support.  

  • Support behavior tracking and data collection to assess program impact.  

  • Conduct regular office hours, field visits, and highlight best practices across sites.  

  • Provide reports and strategic input to the Director of Inclusion based on field observations.  

  • Maintain compliance with all safety, training, and certification requirements.  

  • Attend and participate in approximately 30 hours of staff development throughout the year (includes some weekends/intersession days).  

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.  
     

Qualifications: 

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in inclusive education or programming with diverse communities, special education, ABA or related fields. 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree or certification in Special Education, ABA, or related field preferred).  

  • 1 – 2 years of supervisory experience.  

  • 2 – 3 years of experience working with youth in education or recreational settings.  

  • Valid FBI & DOJ Livescan clearance.  

  • Current TB Test clearance.  

  • First Aid & CPR certification (can be provided by Woodcraft Rangers). 
     

Skills: 

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.  

  • Deep understanding of inclusive education strategies and disabilities awareness.  

  • Ability to coach and train staff in inclusive practices.  

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.  

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.  

  • Familiarity with Universal Design and behavior support frameworks.  

  • Comfort using a smartphone for work (Wi-Fi/cell phone stipend provided).

  • Regular movement throughout large indoor and outdoor program spaces.

Work Environment and Schedule:

Status: Full-Time; Exempt 

Salary Range: $70,000 - $78,000 annually (commensurate with experience and qualifications) 

Hours of Operation: Typically, within standard program hours; some weekends and evenings are required for staff training and site visits, as well as travel for supporting Camp Woodcraft and representing the agency at conferences abroad. 

Location: Multiple sites across Los Angeles County
