Role Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Talent & People Experience, the Talent Acquisition Manager leads full-cycle recruiting operations across Los Angeles, the San Gabriel Valley, and the Inland Empire. Managing a team of Talent Acquisition Specialists, this role owns the day-to-day pipelines, processes, and hiring outcomes needed to staff a high-quality, growing, geographically dispersed workforce — from frontline program staff and summer seasonal hires to HQ office roles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Talent Acquisition Specialists across a hybrid, multi-region environment — setting clear expectations, driving accountability, and building a strong team culture

  • Own full-cycle recruiting across all staff categories, including frontline program staff, HQ roles, and high-volume seasonal hiring

  • Monitor pipeline health across all lanes; track progress against hiring deadlines and surface risks and recommendations to the Director

  • Leverage modern project management and AI tools to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and deliver real-time reporting on hiring progress

  • Execute in-person and virtual recruiting events that are engaging, accessible, and optimized for conversion — managing logistics, candidate experience, and pipeline outcomes from event attendance through offer acceptance

  • Apply current knowledge of Gen Z recruiting trends to shape candidate engagement strategies and digital sourcing approaches that resonate with today's emerging workforce

  • Activate and manage talent pipelines through community partnerships, schools, and workforce development boards across Southern California

  • Oversee equitable, distributed hiring across LA, SGV, and the Inland Empire, ensuring sourcing strategies reach candidates in under-resourced communities and through non-traditional channels

  • Maintain relationships with regional program leadership to surface localized workforce challenges and ensure hiring reflects community context

  • Partner with Employee Experience, Program, and Operations leadership to execute season-aligned hiring plans and ensure a seamless experience from offer acceptance through Day 1

Qualifications & Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field — or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in talent acquisition, including at least 2-3 years in a people leadership or team lead capacity

  • Experience activating talent pipelines through community partnerships and non-traditional sourcing channels

  • Experience with high-volume, multi-site hiring across geographically dispersed regions (preferably LA, SGV, and/or Inland Empire markets)

  • Experience in youth development, education, afterschool, nonprofit, or similarly mission-driven, community-based organizations

  • Experience building or improving recruiting processes, workflows, or systems in a scaling organization

  • Experience using recruiting data and metrics to drive decision-making and improve hiring outcomes

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in HR, Business, or related field

  • Proficiency with modern ATS platforms and comfort using AI tools (e.g., Claude) and project management tools (e.g., Notion) to improve recruiting efficiency
